Thanks for stopping in.
At The Factory, we don't just chase big lingcod and rockfish, we make the tools to catch them. From custom rods to custom plastics, every detail is considered in how it relates to the pursuit of these fish.
We've spent years chasing the trigger, looking for that one detail we missed, or a combination of details that makes a presentation irresistible.
In the pages of this site you will find what went behind the thinking of each bait, each decision and each outing. Baits are offered for sale to help those who share the obsession for big ground fish, but the goal of this site isn't to sell baits, it's to highlight fish we believe are far cooler than their typical table fare reputations.
To us, the largest lingcod and rockfish are more than dinner. They are prized gamefish worthy of the time, attention, and respect required to pursue them. Understanding their nature, their behavior, and their instincts is every bit as rewarding as landing them.
Along the Pacific Coast, fishermen have long chased rumors of Alaskan-sized lingcod lurking beneath California waters. Whether every story is true, hardly matters. The pursuit itself is what keeps us coming back.
And when you land a true giant. The ling over 40", the rockfish over 10lbs. The one bigger that pulled off right before color. Something changes in you a bit. You start to wonder what else. What else could be lurking below, hunkered down on its protected patch of rocks and sand.
The possibility of encountering one of these fish is enough to keep us studying charts, tying knots, pouring baits, and making one more drift, looking for a fish that dwarfs them all.
Hopefully you see or read something here that helps you with your pursuits of trophy ground fish. Good luck and fish with confidence!
Because, still swimming is way more rad than in your cooler.
Fish with Confidence!
